The tail lights of the car also flaunt the very unique Union Jack graphics to pay a tribute the origin of the iconic British brand that is now owned by the German luxury auto giant BMW.
On the inside, the John Cooper Works offer premium leather clad bucket seats which is part of the car’s standard equipment package. The hottest version of the MINI Cooper also flaunts of a body kit which offers it a highly distinctive visual appeal and mark itself apart from the all the other cars from the MINI stable.
The new Mini Cooper JCW variants are also high on safety techs. The hot sporty Cooper variants come endowed with safety equipments such as anti-lock braking system, brake assist, crash sensors, cornering brake control and stability control system among others.
Under the hood, the new updated John Cooper Works hatchback and convertible models get equipped with a 2.0 litre twin turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which has the capability of generating a peak power output of 234 hp. The engine makes the hatchback able to reach 100kph from a standstill position in only 6.3 seconds. On the other hand, the convertible JCW version is a tad slower than its hatchback twin and does the 0-100kph sprint in 6.6 seconds. The JCW models get equipped with a highly refined 6 speed manual transmission gearbox as standard; while an 8 speed automatic transmission is offered as an option.
According to MINI, the company has fitted the new updated John Cooper Works with a new particulate filter that has been integrated into the car’s exhaust system in a special way, which will enable the car emit “a characteristic sound” both on the inside and on the outside of the car. This new exhaust filtration system will also make the new JCW variants adhere to the Euro 6d-TEMP emission norms. The newly revealed John Cooper Works models also get endowed with a sports suspension system.
The new updated Mini Cooper was launched in India in the month of May this year, while there are no details regarding the JCW variants’ arrival in the car market of India anytime soon. As India did receive 192hp Mini Cooper John Cooper Works Pro Edition back in 2017 in an extremely limited 20 units, we are hopeful about the new JCW variants arrival as well, of course also in a small handful of units.
