Japanese auto major, Nissan has recently unveiled its Terra SUV to fight in the ever growing market of the full sized SUVs. It has come to light that the Nissan Terra SUV will be launching in the car market of China on 12th of April, 2018, making China the debutant market for the new Japanese SUV. The new upcoming Nissan Terra 7-seater SUV’s ladder-frame architecture is shared with the Navara pick-up truck and also the Mercedes X-class. When dimensions are concerned, the SUV is 4,882 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,835 mm in height, and it comes riding on a wheelbase measuring 2,850 mm. The new Terra is likely to be a capable off-roader, as it has a reported ground clearance of 220 mm, and it has a 33 degrees approach angle and 26 degrees departure angle.
The brand new Nissan Terra full sized SUV model will be getting equipped with a 2.4 litre naturally aspirated petrol motor for the car market of China. This petrol mill is good to generate a max power output of 184 hp, and it will get paired to a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox. A 7 speed automatic transmission will also be offered as an option, while All 4 Wheel Drive system will also be on offer as an option.
When it comes to the exterior visual appeal, the Nissan Terra is a good looking, contemporary SUV model packed with all the necessary design elements that befit the premium 7-seater SUV models in its own class. As per a set of new images that was posted revealed that the Terra SUV will be flaunting full LED headlights along with flashy Daytime Running Lights, and a stylish set of 18 inch alloy wheels to add to the good looks of the Terra.
On the inside, the Nissan Terra will be packed with an array of premium features and equipments. Its features list would include premium wood trim on the central console, a touchscreen display integrated infotainment system, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, pushbutton engine start-stop system and cruise control among many others. The recently released pictures of the SUV has also show that the SUV will be endowed with 60:40 split folding rear seats as well as a 5-seat configuration. This only means that the Nissan Terra will be made available in both 5 and 7 seater configurations in the car market of China.
The Nissan Terra SUV is expected to be a global product and not a China specific one, and it is expected to launch in right-hand drive markets pretty soon. This means, Nissan might bring this new SUV to India as well. If and when the Terra launches in the Indian market, it will be pitched against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the likes.
