New refreshed Mercedes Benz S-Class launched in India starting at Rs. 1.33 crore
Mercedes Benz India has introduced the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift in the domestic car market of the country at a starting price tag of Rs. 1.33 Crore. The new updated 2018 Mercedes-Ben S-Class has been launched in India in two variants, namely the S350 priced at Rs. 1.33 crore and the S450 tagged at Rs. 1.47 crore (prices ex-showroom pan-India).
The new refreshed 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class comes with a number of updates on the outside as well as on the inside. The flagship luxury sedan model also come equipped with a new range of BS-VI compliant inline 6 cylinder petrol and diesel engines, making the model a comprehensive facelift.
When the exterior styling updates are concerned, the new S-Class facelift comes flaunting new headlamps as well as tail lights along with newly designed bumpers on both the ends. The front façade also boasts of a newly styled grille to offer a fresh new visual appeal, while the side profile of the car has been refreshed with the help of newly styled alloy wheels.
On the inside, the new refreshed Mercedes S-Class comes equipped with a pair of new high definition displays which measure 12.3 inch each. The massive twin screens make up the center console unite as well as the infotainment system. Other interior updates include classy wooden trim options for the interior as well as plush leather upholstery options for the seats as well as the side panels. Another interesting and luxurious feature update on the S-Class facelift is the new seats that come along with a new fragrance function apart from their usual heated, cooled and massaging functions in order to enhance the luxury quotient on the inside.
At the heart of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift, there are petrol and diesel engine options to choose from. The S350d gets powered by a newly updated BSVI (Bharat Stage VI fuel) compliant in-line 6 cylinder diesel motor which has the capability to churn out a max power figure of 281 bhp along with a top torque of 600 Nm. On the other hand, the S460 gets powered by an updated BSVI compliant V6 petrol mill that is good to pump out a max power output of 362 bhp along with a top torque of 500 Nm.
Both the engines come paired to a 9 speed ZF automatic transmission gearbox, which enables the diesel version of the new S-Class to sprint from 0-100 kmph in a just 6 seconds, while the petrol avatar is even faster and can do the sprint in only 5.1 seconds. Both the fuel variants offer a top speed of 250 kmph.
The diesel version of the S-Class, the S350 also comes with a tech update. The S350d's in-line 6 cylinder diesel engine come equipped with the stepped bowl combustion technology along with two-stage turbocharging system and also the CAMTRONIC variable valve lift control system.
All these cosmetic, features and tech update have made the Mercedes S-Class facelift even more alluring, while also bracing it to fight better with its market rivals.
