The new upcoming Kia Seltos is preparing full-swing for its world premiere that will be held on 20th June in India. The highly awaited Kia SP Concept based SUV has been recently officially christened as the ‘Seltos’, and it will be Kia’s debutant product in the Indian car market.
The South Korean car maker, which is Hyundai’s sister concern, has been busy promoting its brand name in India in recent months with its off-beat commercials. Now, Kia is busy creating enough buzz around the upcoming Seltos to ensure that the new SUV model gets enough attention in the immensely competitive Indian market. Kia has chosen the name 'Seltos' which has come from the mythological hero Hercules’ son, whose name was ‘Celtus’.
In mid-May, Kia had posted the original design sketches of the new compact SUV, offering an idea about its exteriors design. Now, the company has teased it's brand new Seltos vehicle in a new video, offering glimpses of its exterior design to the viewers. By the looks of it, the Kia Seltos has stayed close to its concept SP, which gained a lot of attention when it was unveiled at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo.
Kia Seltos SUV will come with bold and eye-catching stylish. It will flaunt the patent Kia tiger-nose front grille design along with full LED headlights and LED DRLs to add to the sporty looks of the vehicle. The style quotient will be upped with the usage of abundant chrome garnish. The SUV’s rear facade will get eye-catching LED tail lights, while Kia has also endowed a metallic muffler effect on the rear bumper and dual exhaust tips. The Seltos will also flaunt dual tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and shark fin antenna to add to its bold visual appeal.
The all-new 2019 Kia Seltos will be officially unveiled in this country on the 20th of June, which is also the vehicle’s world premiere. The new compact SUV will be officially hitting the Indian market for sale in the following months; most probably at the onset of the Indian festive season this year.
On the inside, the Kia Seltos SUV will be offering a long list of premium features, including a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system, a good looking MID, premium Bose sound system, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with EPS (Electronic Power Steering) feature and premium leather seat upholstery. Other features include push-button start/stop, cruise control, rear AC vents, front armrest among much more.
When the under the hood specifications of the Kia Seltos are concerned, there are yet no concrete details. However, as per the reports, the Seltos will pack in BSVI compliant 1.5-liter petrol as well as diesel engine options. Both manual and automatic transmission choices will be available as well. As the Kia Seltos will most probably launch as a 2020 model, it is only viable that the vehicle launches with BS6 engines, as the new emission norms will come into effect in April 2020.
The Kia Seltos is likely to be priced in the range of around Rs. 10 - 16 lakhs. The Seltos will primarily rival its cousin – the popular Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, and Renault Captur. Its other indirect rivals will include the likes of the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass, and the upcoming MG Hector.
