Official: Kia Sonet Revealed; Will Get Two Trims - GT Line & Tech Line
The Kia just revealed the Sonet sub-4m SUV, which is likely to go on sale in India in September 2020. Sonet will become Kia’s most affordable car in India. Kia confirmed that the Sonet will come in two trim levels -- GT Line and Tech Line. The Seltos is also available with the two trim levels.
The GT Line trim will feature red inserts on the outside and inside and will come with an all-black interior theme to give the Sonet a sporty look. It will also feature a GT Line badge on the front grille. The Tech Line trim will feature a beige-black interior theme and won’t get the interior and exterior red accents. The exact trim-variant-powertrains combination lineup is not available yet.
Kia is yet to reveal the names of the variants of the Sonet, but believe they’ll follow the same nomenclature as the Seltos. So the HT Line version will probably come in HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+ variants while the GT Line version should get GTK+, GTX and GTX+ variants. The Sonet will get 3 engine options in combination with manual, automatic and ACMT type transmission. So expect a lot of trim-variant-powertrain combinations to be on offer.
The GTX+ variant should be the most feature-loaded of all, with features like side and curtain airbags, front parking sensors and ventilated front seats on offer. The Sonet will also feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 7-speaker Bose audio system -- a combination that is not available on any other sub-4m SUV in India. The higher variants will also get features like sunroof, auto LED headlamps, DRLs, rear parking camera, sound mood lights, air purifier and connected-car tech.
The Sonet will come in 7 monotone exterior colours - gold, blue, black, red, grey, silver and white. You could also pick one of the 3 dual-tone colours - red with black roof, white with black roof and gold with black roof.
We expect the Sonet to cost between Rs. 7.0 and12.0 lakh. Itll compete with other sub-4m SUVs like Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V.
