2026 Renault Duster Revealed: Top 5 Highlights | V3Cars

Renault have officially unveiled the new Duster for the Indian market, marking the return of one of the most recognisable SUV nameplates in the country. The new Duster aims to re-enter the highly-competitive C-SUV segment with a modern design, multiple powertrain options and a strong list of features and technology.

2026 Renault Duster Revealed

Here are the top highlights of the 2026 Renault Duster:

1. Multiple Turbo Petrol Powertrain Options

At launch, the 2026 Duster will be offered with 2 turbo petrol engine options. The lower variants of the 2026 Duster will be offered with a 1L turbo petrol engine producing 100PS of power and 160Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission only.

Buyers looking for more performance can opt for a larger 1.3L turbo petrol engine mated to a quick-shifting 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The larger turbo petrol engine produces 163PS of power and 280Nm of torque.

2. Strong-Hybrid Petrol Engine Coming By Diwali

Renault have also confirmed an all-new strong hybrid powertrain option for the new Duster. The Duster strong hybrid variants will utilise a 1.8L normal petrol engine mated to a main electric motor, a high-voltage starter generator, and a 1.4kWh, 230V battery pack. This setup allows the Duster strong hybrid to run on pure EV mode at low speeds or in city traffic. When higher speed or acceleration is required, the normal petrol engine kicks in to power the wheels directly. The petrol engine also acts as a generator to charge the battery pack.

3. India-Specific Exterior Design Changes

While the 2026 Renault Duster is based on the global-spec Dacia Duster, the India-spec model gets unique design elements such as multi-reflector LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a new grille with ‘DUSTER’ lettering as well as new bumpers front and rear. It also gets a connected LED taillamp setup, which is missing in the global model.

Other design highlights include black cladding all around the lower section and wheel arches, rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar, black roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The India-spec Duster offers 212mm of ground clearance.

As for colour options, Renault are offering a choice of 6 shades:

  • White (Pearl White)
  • Silver (Moonlight Silver)
  • Green (Jade Mountain Green)
  • Red (Sunset Red)
  • Blue (River Blue)

4. India-Specific Interior Design Changes

Just like the exterior, the cabin of the India-spec Duster gets a few upgrades to make it stand out in the crowded C-SUV segment. Unlike the global-spec Dacia Duster, which only offers fabric upholstery, the India-spec model gets leatherette upholstery and premium materials on the dashboard. Aside from these changes, the cabin is identical to the global model, featuring a twin-screen layout, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a stubby gear selector, a sliding front armrest and cupholders with tambour doors.
