Skoda Auto India have announced a recall for select units of the second generation Kodiaq in India. The recall is related to a potential defect in the front seat frame, which could impact the effectiveness of the side airbags in the event of a crash.

According to information available on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) website, a total of 221 units of the Kodiaq are affected by this recall. These units were manufactured between March 10 and December 8, 2025.

The issue is linked to the inner frame of the front seats, specifically the edge of the structure.

What Is The Issue?

As per the official disclosure, the defect could compromise the performance of the side airbags. In the event of a collision where the side airbags are deployed, this issue may:

  • Reduce the effectiveness of the airbag
  • Impact occupant protection
  • Increase the risk of injury

While this does not affect everyday drivability, it is a safety concern that requires immediate attention.

Owners of affected vehicles are expected to be contacted by authorised Skoda dealerships. The inspection and necessary repairs will be carried out free of cost.
