Skoda has stopped accepting bookings for the Rapid Rider MT for the year 2020. The discontinuation of bookings is confirmed by Zac Hollis, Director, Skoda Auto India on Twitter.
The Rider Plus is the second variant of the Rapid -- the first (base) variant being the Rider. It is priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom India), at a premium of Rs 50,000 over the Rider variant. For the extra premium, the Rider Plus gets features like a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, window chrome lining, side body decals, glossy black B-pillar and trunk lip garnish.
Other features on offer on the Rapid Rider Plus are similar to the base-spec Rider variant. So it carries over features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, auto AC with rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators, all four power windows, front and rear adjustable headrests, front and rear armrests and tilt and telescopic steering.
Under the hood, the Rapid gets a 1.0-litre, turbo-charged petrol engine making 110PS of maximum power and 175Nm of peak torque. It can be had either with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic that was recently launched. It is not confirmed whether the Skoda Rider Plus AT is available for deliveries or not. It is priced at Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom India).
Apart from the Rider and Rider Plus, the Rapid is available in four more variants including Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. Prices of these variants range from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom India). Here is a detailed price list of the Rapid sedan.
