Normal Tata Altroz To Get 6 Airbags, 360 Camera & More Features With New Variants | V3Cars

From our source in Tata Motors with knowledge about the Altroz Racer launch plans, we recently learned that Tata are also preparing to update the normal Altroz. This update will bring some of the new features of the Altroz Racer to the normal Altroz also.

6 Airbags

Among the updates, the most important feature change is the inclusion of 4 extra airbags, which brings the total to 6. This is a welcome addition for a car, which scored 5 stars in the GNCAP crash tests. It helps boost the image of the Altroz as the safe hatchback to buy under Rs. 10.0 lakh.

360-degree Camera

Another feature, which will improve the safety and prevent scratches while parking is the inclusion of 360-degree camera. Some of the more expensive cars in Tata’s portfolio such as the Punch EV, Nexon and others have had this feature for some time.

Larger Touchscreen

Among other features, the higher variants of the Altroz will get a larger, 10.25-inch touchscreen. Although the internal document we have seen suggests that the touchscreen will be 10-inch, we’re fairly confident that it’ll in fact be a 10.25-inch display. Parts sharing is quite common among cars from a single manufacturer. So, it’s obvious that Tata will use the same touchscreen part, which is also available in other Tata cars like the Safari, Harrier, Punch EV, Nexon and Nexon EV.

This touchscreen also brings with it wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay functionality. So far, we have seen that Tata cars with the smaller 7-inch touchscreen only get wired Android and Apple connectivity while the larger touchscreen gets wireless connectivity. So, this is just a ripple effect of bringing the larger touchscreen to the Altroz.

(-) Leather Upholstery

This is a feature, which is currently available only in the XZ Plus OS variant. According to the internal document and our source, the normal Altroz will lose this feature. However, the Racer variants will get exclusive access to the leather upholstery across all 3 variants.

The XZ Plus S Lux variant will also be available in black colour. This black colour will be available with all powertrains except CNG-manual.
