Toyota Yaris Sedan Launched In India, Prices Starting From INR 8.75 Lakh
Japanese automaker Toyota has finally launched the much awaited Yaris sedan in the Indian market. The brochure revealing the prices, specs, features and other details had already been leaked on the internet ahead of launch and the price for the 2018 Toyota Yaris starts at Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and goes all the way up to Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new model sits between the Etios and the Corolla Altis in TKM’s product portfolio and is available with only the petrol engine. The advanced bookings for the all-new Yaris had started since the beginning of the month at Rs 50,000.
Under the hood, the newly launched Toyota Yaris comes powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that outputs a maximum power of 103 BHP along with a peak torque of 140 Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard while a 7-step CVT is also on offer with all the trims. The automaker also offers paddle shifters and cruise control. There is no diesel engine on offer with the 2018 Yaris, maybe because Toyota probably feels that the fast diminishing difference between petrol and diesel prices along with the improvements in the fuel efficiency of petrol engines will soon phase out the popularity of diesel engines. It will be interesting to see if the newly launched Yaris succeeds in attracting enough customers for itself with only Petrol and CVT motor.
