Upcoming Hatchbacks In 2024 - New Swift, C3 CNG And More | V3Cars

Here’s a list of all upcoming hatchbacks that are set to launch in India in 2024. While the brands in this list are yet to confirm the launch date of their upcoming cars, we expect the new Maruti Suzuki Swift to go on sale in the second half of 2024. So let’s begin the list with mass-market hatchbacks that are likely to launch in early 2024.

Upcoming Hatchbacks In 2024

Citroen C3 CNG - H1 2024

C3 CNG

The Citroen C3 CNG was spotted testing in the country multiple times in the past. The C3 CNG is expected to be powered by a 1.2L naturally aspirated CNG engine. When running on petrol, this engine produces 82PS of power and 115Nm of torque. Expect a slight dip in these figures when powered by CNG. We expect the C3 CNG’s prices to start upwards of Rs. 7.0 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.0 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. When launched, the Citroen C3 CNG will compete with the Tata Punch CNG, Hyundai Exter CNG as well as the base variant of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift - H2 2024

2024 Swift

The new Swift hatchback was showcased at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show and test mules of the next-generation hatchback were spotted on Indian roads recently. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to debut with a brand new petrol engine. In Japan, the Swift is available with a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine with and without a mild-hybrid system. While the Swift’s new mild-hybrid engine produces 85PS of power and 168Nm of torque, the normal petrol engine puts out 82PS and 108Nm, which is 1PS and 13Nm less than the current-gen Swift’s 4-cylinder normal petrol engine. Tata Altroz Racer - H2-2024

Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz Racer was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and Tata Motors confirmed its launch soon after. However, almost a year later, the Tata Altroz Racer is nowhere to be seen, making us wonder if Tata dropped the ball on the Altroz Racer.

Did Tata Drop The Ball On The Altroz Racer – Opinion

The Altroz Racer was supposed to bring the same 1.2L turbo powertrain and transmission as the Nexon. That means a 120PS of power and 170Nm of torque with a 6-speed transmission. The Altroz turbo petrol currently makes 110PS of power and 140Nm of torque with a 5-speed transmission.

Toyota Glanza Sport

Glanza Sport

Toyota showcased the Glanza Sport concept hatchback at the 2023 Auto Expo. While there are no launch plans in sight for the Glanza Sport, we would love to see Toyota introduce a sporty hatchback on Indian shores. In fact, we know a few enthusiasts who would love to see Maruti Suzuki and Toyota plonk the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit from the Fronx into the Baleno/Glanza and launch them as a sporty alternative to the plain jane hatchbacks. The Glanza Sport showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 showcased the following features:

  • Sporty front bumper
  • Front lip splitter with faux carbon fibre trim
  • Red inserts on headlights, grille and bumper
  • Blacked-out roof and ORVMs
  • 17-inch black alloy wheels
  • Red brake callipers
  • New rear bumper
  • Faux centre exhaust
  • Faux rear diffuser
  • Leather seats with red piping
  • Flat-bottom steering wheel with carbon fibre inserts
