Maruti Suzuki To Automate 21 Driving License Test Tracks In Rajasthan (Press Release) | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki have signed an MoA with the Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan, to set up 21 Automated Driving Test Tracks across 20 cities. The CSR initiative aims to enhance transparency and safety in the driving license testing process.

Here’s what Maruti Suzuki has to say about the MoA with the Rajasthan Transport Department:
In a significant step to enhance road safety in Rajasthan, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (“Maruti Suzuki”) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (“MoA”) with the Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan, to automate 21 driving license test tracks. These tracks will be set up in 20 major cities in the state, namely at Alwar, Baran, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Chittaurgarh, Churu, Dausa, Dholpur, Didwana, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Kota, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Sikar and Udaipur.
The MoA was signed in the august presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister, Transport and Road Safety, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa. The MoA was signed by Smt. Shuchi Tyagi, Secretary & Transport Commissioner, Government of Rajasthan and Mr. Tarun Agarwal, Senior Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”), Maruti Suzuki. The initiative is funded by Maruti Suzuki, as part of its CSR.
The ADTTs will serve Two-Wheeler (TW) and Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license applicants. These ADTTs will be equipped with high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, real-time analytics, and an integrated IT system to enable fully computerized, rule-based testing, in compliance with Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR). The evaluation process is designed to be objective and eliminates human bias and error.
Applauding Maruti Suzuki’s road safety efforts, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister, Transport and Road Safety, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, said,
I commend Maruti Suzuki for their impactful contribution to road safety through Automated Driving Test Tracks across various states. Our association with Maruti Suzuki to build 21 ADTTs across the state will make the driving license testing process comprehensive and transparent and contribute to safer roads. It fully aligns with our 10-year Road Safety Action Plan. I look forward to the positive changes this will bring to road safety in Rajasthan.
Elaborating on the initiative, Mr. Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki, said,
We are honoured to collaborate with the Government of Rajasthan to advance road safety with these 21 Automated Driving Test Tracks across the state. This is our small contribution to the state’s Road Safety Action Plan.
Mr. Bharti added,
Driver’s skill is a critical factor in road safety and technology can play a transformative role to ensure fair and accurate driving license testing. Automated Driving Test Tracks use high-definition cameras and analytical tools to enhance transparency and efficiency of driving license testing process. It eliminates human errors from the process and ensures that only competent drivers with requisite knowledge and skills earn a license.
Maruti Suzuki promotes road safety through 5Es i.e. Education, Evaluation, Enforcement, Engineering and Emergency Care. One of the most significant projects in this direction is the large-scale rollout of Automated Driving Test Tracks (ADTTs).
To date, Maruti Suzuki has set up 45 ADTTs across India, including 17 in Uttar Pradesh, 14 in Delhi, 7 in Bihar, 4 in Uttarakhand, 2 in Haryana and 1 in Jammu. With the addition of 21 ADTTs in Rajasthan, the total will rise to 66 ADTTs nationwide.
The Company has also set up 8 Institutes of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTRs) and 23 Road Safety Knowledge Centres (RSKCs) in collaboration with various State Governments to equip drivers with essential driving knowledge and skills.
Additionally, the Company implements Integrated Traffic Safety Management System (ITMS) with real-time monitoring and surveillance to support law enforcement and promote disciplined driving behaviour. To improve emergency care, the Company provides First Responder training to commercial drivers and other stakeholders.
