Here’s what Toyota Kirloskar Motor have to say about concluding the 36th iCARE initiative:

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the successful completion of its 36th iCARE (I, Community Action to Reach Everyone) initiative under its Employee Volunteerism Program marking another milestone in its journey of social impact. The initiative aligns with TKM’s core principles of continuous improvement (kaizen), respect for people by strengthening educational infrastructure for school students.

The event held at Government High School in Kengeri Upanagara, Bengaluru witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 590 iCARE volunteers, including TKM employees, their families, faculty members and students of the school.

Recognizing the critical role of libraries in encouraging reading habits and knowledge enhancement in young minds, the initiative focused on enhancing the existing school library into an inclusive and engaging reading space. Further, it is believed that learning through educational cards strengthens memory, improves understanding and encourages independent study amongst the students, helping them become more confident and successful learners. iCARE volunteers undertook a comprehensive makeover of the school’s library. The activity involved painting, making murals on the library walls, assembling new racks, tables & chairs, adding new books, reorganizing and cataloging them in the library. Volunteers also created 300 Science and Social Science educational cards to help make learning more engaging and exciting.

This initiative aligns with Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s commitment to advancing national development priorities, particularly in the field of education. TKM’s CSR approach effectively complements Government efforts under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which recognizes libraries as vital learning resources for strengthening foundational literacy, promoting multilingual learning, supporting research and fostering lifelong education.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Project Senior Vice President and Head State Affairs, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said

"At Toyota, we believe education thrives when curiosity is nurtured and learning spaces inspire young minds. Through the 36th iCARE initiative, Toyota is promoting a culture of focus on education and reading with enthusiasm among students to instill them with confidence towards lifelong learning”

Since 2017, the dedicated participation and continuous contributions of iCARE volunteers have positively impacted more than 68,800 students and community members in and around the vicinity of TKM operations.By collaborating with local institutions and communities, TKM remains dedicated to creating sustainable and long-term impact across its six core CSR pillars: Education, Health & Hygiene, Environment, Skill Development, Road Safety and Disaster Management.
