JSW MG Motor India revealed the ZS HEV at Auto Expo 2025. The 2025 ZS HEV is essentially a preview to the 2nd generation Astor, which is expected to launch in India this year. The ZS HEV showcased at the Auto Expo features a redesigned exterior, upgraded interior, and a strong hybrid powertrain. While the availability of the hybrid powertrain for the Indian market is unconfirmed, the 2nd generation Astor is expected to adopt the design and interior enhancements seen on the ZS HEV. Here's a closer look:

2025 MG ZS HEV (Next-Gen Astor) Exterior Design

The 2025 ZS HEV features a redesigned front fascia with a lowered grille and the MG logo repositioned on the bonnet. The updated C-SUV gets sleeker headlights and a new LED DRL signature, along with a revised bumper incorporating C-shaped air dams and a silver skid plate.

While the overall silhouette remains similar, MG have introduced new alloy wheel designs for the SUV. The rear gets refreshed LED taillights, a new tailgate, and a redesigned bumper.

2025 MG ZS HEV Interior And Features

The updated Astor features a tweaked interior with new features. The cabin adopts a darker theme and a newly designed steering wheel with a sporty flat-top and flat-bottom design. The top feature highlights of the upcoming new Astor include:

2025 MG ZS HEV Powertrain Specs

Internationally, the Astor facelift comes with a strong hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with an electric motor for a total output of 299PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The ZS HEV get a 24.7kWh battery pack, which gives it n electric-only range of over 100km. MG could introduce the hybrid powertrain in India alongside existing 1.5L normal petrol and 1.3L turbo-petrol engine options.

2025 MG Astor Expected Price And Rivals

The new Astor is expected to be priced higher than the current model (Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18.35 lakh ex-showroom). When launched, it will compete with C-segment SUVs like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, and Honda Elevate.
