Maruti Suzuki recently revealed the Fronx compact crossover that shares its underpinnings with the Baleno. While the list of equipment and engine options are the same, the Fronx ups its game with a few extra features and a new powertrain option. In this article, we share the list of features that you get in the Fronx over the Baleno.

The Fronx offers a wireless phone charger whereas the Baleno doesn’t. It is worth mentioning that the Fronx also gets wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These features were recently added to the new Baleno via a software update.

The Fronx comes with an SUV-like 191mm ground clearance, which is 21mm more than the Baleno. The Baleno’s 170mm ground clearance is respectable for a premium hatchback but may not be enough to go over bad roads.

The Fronx comes with an SUV-inspired design. Up front, it takes inspiration from the Grand Vitara with a large chrome grille and split LED headlights. The Fronx comes with a tri-LED lighting setup and the rear gets connected LED tail lights. Furthermore, the Fronx gets side body cladding and a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Fronx marks the return of the turbo petrol engine that was earlier on offer withthe Baleno RS. It produces 100PS of power at 5500rpm and 148Nm of torque between 2000rpm and 4500rpm. This engine comes with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Fronx offers a 3-point seatbelt for the rear centre passenger whereas the Baleno offers a lap belt. A 3-point seatbelt offers better protection in the event of a crash.
The Fronx offers adjustable headrests for all passengers, including an adjustable rear centre headrest. The Baleno, on the other hand, doesn’t offer a headrest for the rear middle passenger.
