2026 Kia Seltos Vs Rivals – Diesel Specs Compared

Kia India have opened bookings for the 2026 Seltos for a token amount of Rs. 25,000. The full variant-wise prices will be announced on January 2 and deliveries will commence in mid-January.

In this article, we compare the 2026 Seltos’s diesel engine specs with that of its rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and Tata Sierra.

The new Seltos uses the same 1.5L diesel engine as the previous model. This engine is also shared with the Hyundai Creta and various other Hyundai and Kia models. In terms of rivals, the Seltos diesel takes on the Hyundai Creta and Tata Sierra.

The new Seltos diesel produces 2PS less power and 10Nm less torque than Sierra diesel. All 3 SUVs produce their peak power and torque at identical rpms. Thus, the Sierra should feel faster and more responsive on paper. However, its real-world performance will ultimately depend on whether it is heavier or lighter than the Creta and Seltos, but Tata Motors are yet to reveal the kerb weight of their latest offering.
