Mahindra launched the new 2026 XUV 7XO, which is essentially the XUV700 facelift, on January 7, 2026. The new XUV 7XO’s turbo petrol variants are priced from Rs. 13.66 lakh to Rs. 23.64 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in direct competition with C2- and D1-segment SUVs such as the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and the recently-launched Tata Safari turbo petrol.

The new XUV 7XO is offered with the same 2L turbo petrol engine as its predecessor, the XUV700. In comparison, the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar offer smaller 1.5L turbo petrol engines.

Thanks to the larger turbo petrol engine, the new XUV 7XO turbo petrol is the most powerful petrol SUV in this comparison.
The XUV 7XO produces 30PS more power and 100Nm more torque than the new Safari turbo petrol.
The Mahindra SUV offers 40PS more power and 127Nm more torque than the Hyundai Alcazar turbo petrol.
Similarly, the XUV 7XO offers 57PS more power and 130Nm more torque than the MG Hector Plus.
All SUVs offer a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The turbo petrol variants of the XUV 7XO and Safari also offer a 6-speed torque converter (TC), while the Alcazar offers a more advanced 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). The MG Hector Plus, on the other hand, offers a simple yet reliable continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT)
