2018 Ertiga Gets Dealer-Level CNG Kit
Since 2018 Ertiga has been launched in the country on 21st November this year, Maruti Suzuki has been revealing one or the other details about the MPV on a continuous basis. According to the reports, the automaker will launch the factory fitted CNG version of Ertiga next- year. For the time being, the automaker is offering a dealer- level sequential CNG kit fitment to be availed with the petrol engine for the Ertiga customers.
The dealer- level CNG kit offers a maximum capacity of 14 kgs, which is the same as the CNG variant of the previous model of Ertiga. Additionally, the kit is also offered with a one- year warranty from the dealer and comes priced at Rs. 65,000. Customers can now avail the cost benefits of using the low- cost fuel to run the engine. The MPV already comes equipped with Maruti’s SHVS technology which allows the car to study driver patterns to optimize fuel consumption in metropolitan cities.
Launched with a price tag of Rs. 7.44 lakhs to Rs. 9.95 lakhs for the petrol- powered models and Rs. 8.84 lakhs to Rs. 10.90 lakhs for the diesel- powered models, the second- gen Ertiga sits on the Maruti Suzuki’s 5th generation HEARTECT platform. The MPV is now longer by 99 mm, wider by 40 mm and taller by 5 mm though sits on the same wheelbase at 2,740 mm compared to the outgoing model.
The 2018 Ertiga petrol models come powered by an all- new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comes powered by the new 1.5 L inline- four K15B petrol engine producing 103 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated with either five- speed manual or four- speed automatic transmissions. On the other hand, a the 1.3- litre DDiS engine which produces 90 bhp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque mated to a five- speed manual transmission empowers the diesel trims of the MPV as earlier. The automaker doesn’t offer automatic gearbox option with the diesel engine. The claimed fuel efficiency by Maruti Suzuki on the 2018 Ertiga is 19.34 kmpl for the manual while the automatic makes 18.69 kmpl.
In terms of features, the newly launched Ertiga MPV gets a new front grille, upgraded headlamp cluster with DRLs and projector headlamps, new front and rear bumpers. While the HEARTECT platform has helped the MPV shed some weight as well as has enhanced safety on this new generation model, the fog lamp cluster with a new housing is one of the noticeable features offered on the 2018 Ertiga. The features inside the MPV include wood inserts and high- quality plastic finished in black and beige, while the dashboard also gets Maruti Suzuki's smartplay infotainment system that supports in- built navigation with smartphone connectivity options including Apple Car Play and Android Auto in the top variants. The new Ertiga also offers second- row seats with rear A/C vents as earlier.
