Indian auto giant Tata Motors has launched the new Nexon Kraz limited edition model in the country priced at Rs 7.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The launch marks the 1st anniversary of the Nexon brand in India. Based on the Nexon XT trim, the Tata Nexon Kraz is pronounced as ‘craze’ and has been offered in two variants- Kraz and Kraz+.

Being a limited edition car, the 2018 Nexon Kraz gets 10 exterior and interior updates as compared to that is seen on the standard Nexon model. The updates include a new color scheme of Tromso Black with a sonic silver roof as well as new Neo-Green colored ORVMs, wheel accent and front grille along with Neo-green seat stitch with Kraz pattern for seat cushions, piano black dashboard with neo-green air vent surrounds, door and console finishers, steering accents and central control badging while the ‘Kraz’ or ‘Kraz+’ moniker has been be displayed on boot lid of the car.
As the Nexon KRAZ is based on the XM variant, it also comes equipped with features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, parking sensors, Harman music system with bluetooth, manual AC, all power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs. On the other hand, Kraz+ comes based on the XT variant with additional features over the Kraz such as electrically foldable ORVMs, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cooled glove box and a shark-fin antenna. However, both the models miss out on a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, rear parking camera, day/night IRVM, height adjustable driver seat and push button start button. All these features are offered with the top-spec trims of the Nexon- XZ and XZ+.
Powering the limited edition Tata Nexon Kraz will be the 1.5L Revotorq (diesel engine) and 1.2L Revotron (petrol engine) mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. While the 1.2-litre petrol engine makes 108 bhp and 170 Nm, the 1.5-litre diesel is good for 108 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. The automaker has also offered three driving modes: Eco, City, Sport, though missing out on the AMT with the limited edition Nexon KRAZ.
In terms of safety features, Tata Nexon SUV gets frontal double airbags, frontal double pretensioners, ABS and ISOFIX anchorages, as standard has achieved a strong result of four stars for adult occupant protection and three stars for child occupant protection. The vehicle has recently received a four-star rating in the GNCAP crash tests conducted under the 2018 #SaferCarsForIndia initiative.
