American auto major Ford has launched the much awaited 2019 new updated Figo in the car market of India. The new refreshed 2019 Ford Figo hatchback comes with a new price range of Rs. 5.15 lakhs to Rs. 8.09 lakhs (ex-showroom across India). This new piece range of the Figo facelift undercuts the price range of previous model that had a price range of Rs. 5.82 - 8.46 lakhs (prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
The 2019 Ford Figo facelift comes with a handful of subtle exterior styling updates, which includes a new mesh frot grille similar to the Aspire facelift, revised headlights and restyled front and rear bumpers for an overall refreshed front fascia.
The refreshed new Figo flaunts a new dashboard design which is again very similar to the ones seen on the updated Aspire and the Freestyle model. Nevertheless, the interior colour schemes are different on these three models to offer a differentiated visual appeal. While the Figo has been endowed with a classy all black finish, the Aspire offers an airy looking beige scheme, and the Freestyle flaunts sporty dual-tone black and brown cabin upholstery.
While the updated Figo gets subtle and minimal updates in terms of exterior and interior styling changes, the most important update comes under the hood of the car. The hatchback now packs in a new set of petrol mills. The previous 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol mill has been replaced by the new and slightly more powerful 1.2L, 3-cylinder mill that debuted on the Freestyle. This engine is capable of generating 96 PS of max power along with 120 Nm of top torque. On the other hand, the previous 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol unit makes way for the new 1.5L, 3-cylinder mill that also does the duty under the hood of the EcoSport. This unit is good to pump out 123 PS and 150 Nm that also offers more power. The 1.5L 4-cylinder diesel motor remains unchanged and carried forward without any tweaks for power bump. It offers 100 PS and 215 Nm.
When it comes to transmission duties, the 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel units have been paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L petrol engine is exclusively offered mated to a 6 speed torque convertor automatic transmission gearbox, which replaces the earlier 6 speed dual clutch automatic on the outgoing model.
The refreshed new Figo is offered in India three trim levels, namely - Ambiente, Titanium and Titanium Blu. The facelifted hatchback also comes with an enhanced features list to offer better safety. The hatchback comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder for front passengers and rear parking sensors as part of its standard package across all trims.
The comfort and convenience features on the Figo hatch include automatic headlights, automatic rain-sensing wipers, automatic air conditioning, electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors, keyless entry, pushbutton start/stop and a 7 inch touchscreen integrated infotainment system with Bluetooth and navigation among many more.
The updated 2019 Ford Figo offers the first in segment side and curtain airbags on its range topping Titanium Blu trim. Ford has endowed some important features exclusively on the Titanium automatic model, which includes ESP (electronic stability program) traction control and (HLA) Hill Launch Assist.
