The VW Ameo GT Line adds a cosmetic package in order to offer a sportier appeal. It comes with a contrast black roof, black-coloured wing mirrors and a black boot lid spoiler. The variant also flaunts the GT Line logo on the fenders, and GT Line decals on the lower end of the doors. However, unlike the updated Polo and Vento, the Ameo GT Line misses out on a sporty grille design and new bumpers. What it gets is the red exterior colour option.

Under the hood, there are no changes to make the Ameo GT Line more engaging to drive. It comes with a 1.0L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine. The 1.0L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol mill offers 76PS of maximum power and 95Nm of peak torque. It is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit delivers 110PS of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque and is mated to a choice of 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Other than the GT Line version, there are three more variants of the Ameo -- Trend Line, Comfort Line and High Line. The base Trend Line variant starts from Rs 5.94 lakh with the petrol engine and Rs 7.11 lakh with the diesel. Only the top High Line variant of the Ameo, with a diesel engine, can be had with an automatic transmission option. It is the most expensive Ameo on offer, priced at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
