2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift Teased
Volkswagen is building the buzz around the upcoming Tiguan facelift by posting an official sketch of the SUV. The 2021 VW Tiguan in its mid-life facelift avatar is expected to be officially unveiled very soon. The refreshed Tiguan will come with a handful of styling updates as well as a number of added features to offer a fresh appeal. The refreshed Tiguan is likely to hit the market in 2021.
The 2021 Tiguan Facelift has been recently caught testing the roads of Germany wearing camouflage. The refreshed SUV gets an updated front fascia that features a larger hexagonal grille with chrome slats, new twin-pod LED headlights and LED DRLs, a revised front bumper and refreshed airdam. The refreshed SUV model will also flaunt its maker’s new brand logo.
The updated Tiguan also gets some updates on its rear-end, which includes a new rear bumper and revised LED tail lights.
The interior updates of the refreshed Tiguan aren't out yet, but it is likely to get an updated infotainment system and a few extra safety features along with some mild cosmetic updates.
The 2021 VW Tiguan SUV facelift will most likely carry forward the same powertrains under its hood. It could also borrow the mild-hybrid tech from the current Volkswagen Golf.
In the Indian market, Volkswagen has discontinued the Tiguan 5-seater SUV as it wasn’t upgraded to adhere to the BS6 emission norms. However, Volkswagen India sells the long wheelbase version of the SUV named as the Tiguan AllSpace. The Tiguan AllSpace comes with a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers around 190PS of power at 4200rpm and 320Nm of peak torque between 1500 and 4100rpm. The petrol engine gets paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
