Kia India today revealed their 2022 Carens SUV with 3-row seating. The Carens will get 7-seat and 6-seat options with electric, one-touch tumble feature in the second row for easy access to the third row seats. The Carens is likely to go on sale between January and March 2022.

2022 Kia carens Competition/Rivals

The Carens SUV will compete with other 3-row cars in the price segment like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700. The potential competitors for the Carens also include the XL6 on the budget end and the Toyota Innova Crysta at the higher end of the new SUV’s price range.

2022 Kia Carens Engine Options

The Carens will come with the following engine options:

1.4L turbo petrol with 6-speed manual transmission
1.4L turbo petrol with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed manual transmission
1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission

While the carmaker confirmed that the Carens will get a 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options with manual and automatic, the specs are not confirmed. However, these two engine options with a manual and automatic transmission are also available with the Seltos. So, we can expect the Carens to offer similar power and torque output as the Seltos.
