Kia Begin 2022 Seltos Facelift Testing In India | V3Cars

Kia recently unveiled the 2022 Seltos facelift in South Korea. The new Seltos comes with a design refresh and more technology. Up front, it gets a bigger front grille with LED DRLs that now sit lower inside the grille rather than on top of it. The headlights, too, get a new LED DRL pattern with a blacked-out lens finish. At the side, the new Seltos remains unchanged, save for the new alloy wheels. Around the back, the new Seltos gets connected LED tail lights that take inspiration from the new Carens.

The Seltos facelift gets Mercedes Benz-like twin connected screens for both infotainment and driver instrumentation. While the connected design isn’t new for us, the India-spec Seltos facelift will get an all-new, all-digital instrument cluster. Kia are yet to reveal the size of both the screens though. Other changes include redesigned AC vents, a new steering wheel and a rotary gear selector with shift-by-wire technology. We expect Kia India to offer ADAS with the Seltos facelift as well. 

Kia Seltos facelift engine and transmission options are expected to be carried forward from the current version. These include a 1.5L normal petrol engine, 1.5L turbo diesel engine and a 1.4L turbo petrol engine. The power and torque figures, too, are likely to remain the same as found in the current Seltos. However, we expect the engine options to come with RDE compliance for future emission standards.

Kia India could unveil the Seltos facelift later this year, with launch slated for the 2023 Auto Expo. The Seltos will rival other C-Segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq as well as the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Nexa Grand Vitara.
