We have taken some pictures of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R. As the test car was not wearing any camouflage, it’s pretty evident that it’s nearing the production stage. However, there are possibilities of it being the long-awaited Wagon-R Electric as well. Let’s take a closer look at it and try to come to a conclusion.

The test car which we spied was without any camouflage. It was equipped with production-spec headlights and fog lights. Look closer and you will see a blue surround on the Suzuki logo. This opens up the possibility of it being an electric vehicle. No visible tailpipe on the rear reinforces this to be an electric vehicle.

However, Maruti Suzuki are planning to launch the Wagon-R facelift in February. While the possibilities of the test car to be the facelift in question are less, it’s safe to assume that the upcoming facelift of the Wagon-R could take design inspiration from the test car.

If it was to happen, the upcoming Wagon-R facelift should get a split headlight set up with projectors, alloy wheels, and updated taillights.
On the powertrain front, the Wagon-R facelift is likely to continue with the 1.0L petrol and 1.2L petrol engine options. The former produces 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque. The latter produces 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque. Both engines can be had with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. With the expected changes, Maruti Suzuki could revise the prices of the 2022 Wagon-R.
