Kia are likely to soon unveil the Picanto facelift. Ahead of its global debut, a set of leaked images reveal the 2023 Picanto’s exterior and interior changes. Read on to know what the updated Hyundai i10-rivaling hatchback has to offer.

On the outside, Kia have made a couple of changes to the Picanto that make it fall in line with new-age Kia offerings. At the front, the Picanto now comes with larger vertically-placed LED headlights that merge seamlessly with the ‘Tiger Nose’ grille. The lower bumper gets larger air intakes and a sporty design, which is likely to be exclusive to the GT Line model. The GT Line also offers machined alloy wheels and gloss black elements all around. At the rear, the images reveal connected LED tail lights and a faux diffuser.

On the inside, the new Picanto facelift offers a redesigned dashboard. A new touchscreen infotainment system takes centrestage with physical dials for volume and radio tuning. It also gets a new digital instrument cluster that looks like the same unit offered in the Kia Carens. We will get to know its complete list of features close to its official unveiling.

We do not expect Kia to introduce new powertrains for the Picanto facelift. The current model offers a choice of 2 engine options — 1.0L normal petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol. Its 1.0L normal petrol engine produces 66PS of power at 5500rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3750rpm. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine, which is the same that was offered with the Grand i10 turbo earlier, produces 100PS of power at 4500rpm and 172Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4000rpm. Both engine options come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while the normal petrol engine also gets the option of a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
