BMW India have launched a new, updated version of the BMW X5. The new X5 is locally produced at BMW Group’s plant in Chennai and is now available at dealerships with both petrol and diesel engine options. The company has also introduced 2 new packages: an exclusive xOffroad package and a sporty M Sport Pro package.

The new BMW X5 is available in 4 variants, with prices starting from Rs. 1 crore (ex-showroom).

What's New In The Updated BMW X5?

The new BMW X5 comes with several significant updates, particularly in its interior and off-road capability. First off, the cabin of the updated X5 features the new BMW Widescreen Curved Display, which combines a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display under a single glass surface.

The new X5 comes with Comfort Seats with electric adjustments as standard. Other standard features include a 4-zone automatic climate control system, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, and a panoramic sunroof.

The new BMW X5 also comes with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including Parking Assistant Professional with a surround view camera and remote services.

2025 BMW X5 Powertrain Specs

The updated X5 is powered by the same 3L turbo-petrol and diesel engines as before. Both engines come paired with a 48V electric motor to improve efficiency.

The XDrive40i petrol variant produces 381PS of power and 520Nm of torque. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 5.4 seconds.
The XDrive 30d diesel variant produces 286PS of power and 650nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 6.1 seconds.

Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive technology.

Off-Road And Sporty Packages Introduced

BMW are offering 2 new packages for the 2025 X5:

xOffroad Package: It offers 4 off-road driving modes (Sand, Rocks, Gravel, and Snow), which automatically adjust the SUV’s height, traction, and transmission for optimal off-road performance. The package also includes reinforced underbody protection.
M Sport Pro Package: This package enhances the car’s dynamic and sporty character with high-gloss black elements on the kidney grille, air intakes, and exhaust trims. It also features an M Sport Exhaust and M Sport Brakes with red calipers.
