Last week, Kia India revealed the 2025 Carens Clavis as a premium alternative to the standard Carens MPV. While we await the variant-wise prices of the 2025 Carens Clavis, we can now confirm that Kia have discontinued the higher Prestige and X-Line variants of the Carens.

The 2025 Carens is now available in a single variant – Premium (O) 7 seater – only. The 2025 Carens is no longer offered with the 6-seater option or the higher Prestige, Prestige (O), Prestige Plus, Prestige Plus (O), Gravity, Luxury Plus and X-Line variants. Going forward, the 2025 Carens is only available in the following powertrain options:
Although the 2025 Carens is available with the same engine options as before, Kia India no longer offer the 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine with an automatic transmission.

However, it misses out on features found in higher variants such as ventilated seats, alloy wheels, a sunroof and a six-seat configuration. Kia India will now offer these features with the 2025 Carens Clavis only.
Kia have stated that the Carens and the upcoming Carens Clavis will be sold alongside each other in India. The Clavis will be available in different variants and will offer a broader range of transmission choices, including a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed auto-clutch manual (ACMT), a 6-speed torque converter (TC) and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Kia's strategy of offering the Carens in just one variant is likely geared towards appealing to budget-focused individual buyers as well as fleet and commercial customers. The Carens Premium (O) model continues to be available in a selection of seven exterior colours
