We have recently learned from a reliable source that the Maruti Suzuki Brezza 2026 will start reaching dealerships sometime in July — probably around late July or early August. The idea behind this could be a production start in July 2026 with ramping up by festive season as per demand.
We have learned that the Brezza will get the 1.0L turbo petrol engine, which is available with the higher variants of the Fronx. While the Fronx mostly sells in the lower variants with the 1.2L normal petrol engine, the turbo petrol engine also sells in small numbers. These sales in small numbers is enough to minimise the reputation harm from any reliability related issues while allowing Maruti Suzuki to iron out issues before the big move.
The big move will mostly come with the Brezza as this car can really benefit from the smaller turbo petrol engine. The buyers have moved past the displacement game and started to see value in small turbo petrol engines. The cars as big as Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus and Taigun also sell well while bringing in good demand for their 1.0L turbo petrol engines.
The Brezza, despite being sub-4m, doesn’t get to enjoy the tax benefits like its rivals. With the new GST structure on cars, it becomes extremely necessary for Maruti Suzuki to start offering the 1.0L turbo petrol engine, at least as an option.
Because of the significant tax benefits, the 1.0L turbo petrol variants of the Brezza are likely to carry little to no premium over the Brezza 1.5L trims. This will also allow Maruti Suzuki to confirm, once and for all, the demand for the turbo petrol engine before choosing to make it the mainstay for the Brezza.
Reports also suggest that the Brezza will get an underbody CNG tank for better boot space. However, we have not been able to confirm this from our source. Although, it does have a high likelihood. Maruti Suzuki may have to retain the 1.5L engine for the to offer the Brezza with the CNG powertrain.
