2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift Spied: Top 5 Expected Changes | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki are working on an update for the Baleno, and the first spy shots of the 2026 facelift have now surfaced. While the test mule remains heavily camouflaged, it gives us enough clues to form expectations around the upcoming changes.
In this article, we take a look at the top 5 updates we expect from the 2026 Baleno facelift based on the latest spy shots and segment trends.
1. New Front And Rear Design

One of the most noticeable updates in the 2026 Baleno facelift is expected to be a refreshed front and rear design. While the overall silhouette will remain unchanged, Maruti Suzuki could introduce a revised grille, updated headlamps and a reworked front bumper.
At the rear, we expect minor tweaks to the bumper along with updated LED tail lamp graphics. These changes should help the Baleno stay visually fresh and aligned with Maruti’s evolving design language.
2. Larger Touchscreen Infotainment System
The current Baleno offers a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in its higher variants, which remains competitive but no longer segment-leading. Both the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz already offer 10.25-inch displays in their top variants.
With the facelift, Maruti Suzuki could introduce a larger display, possibly a 10.25-inch unit. This would improve the Baleno’s tech appeal and bring it closer to its rivals.
3. Digital Instrument Cluster
Another expected upgrade is the addition of a digital instrument cluster in top variants. The current semi-digital unit feels dated compared to newer rivals offering fully digital displays.
A larger, customisable digital cluster would enhance the cabin experience and give the Baleno a more modern feel.
4. 360-Degree Camera, Wireless Charger And More
The Baleno facelift is also expected to get a broader feature list, including convenience-focused additions.
These could include:
- 360-degree camera
- Wireless phone charger
- Enhanced connectivity features
Such additions would improve everyday usability and help the Baleno keep pace with feature-loaded competitors in the premium hatchback segment.
5. 1.0L Turbo Petrol Engine Option
While the current Baleno continues with the 1.2L normal petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki could introduce the 1L turbo petrol engine for higher variants.
This engine, already seen in models like the Fronx, would offer stronger mid-range performance and improve overall drivability. It would also give the Baleno a more engaging driving experience, especially for buyers looking for a bit more performance.
The Baleno facelift appears to focus on incremental but meaningful upgrades rather than a complete overhaul. With refreshed styling, improved features and the possibility of a turbo petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki are likely aiming to strengthen the Baleno’s position in the hatchback segment.
If these updates make it to production, the 2026 Baleno could offer a more well-rounded package to compete with rivals like the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz.
