2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Debuts; Prices To Be Announced Soon | V3Cars
Volkswagen have officially revealed the 2026 Taigun facelift in India. While prices are yet to be announced, the updated SUV brings several feature upgrades, design tweaks and a new automatic transmission option.
Based on the latest reveal, here are the top 5 changes in the Taigun facelift:
1. Panoramic Sunroof And Feature Upgrades
One of the biggest highlights of the Taigun facelift is the introduction of a panoramic sunroof on the Topline variant, replacing the single-pane unit offered earlier.
In addition to this, Volkswagen have added several new features across variants:
- 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system (Highline and above)
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation (Topline)
- 6 upholstery options depending on variant

These updates enhance the Taigun’s cabin experience and bring it in line with segment expectations.
2. New 8-Speed Automatic Gearbox
Volkswagen have introduced a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission with the 1L turbo petrol engine. This replaces the earlier 6-speed automatic and is expected to:
- Improve highway refinement
- Deliver better mileage
- Offer smoother gear shifts

The 1.5L turbo petrol engine is now only available with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). It now benefits from added braking performance (more on that below).
3. Updated Exterior Design With Illuminated Elements
The Taigun facelift gets subtle but noticeable design updates, especially on higher variants. Key highlights include:
- New front grille with LED light band (Topline only)
- Illuminated front and rear VW logos (Topline only)
- LED headlamps with auto-levelling (now standard)
- Refreshed LED tail lamps

These changes align the Taigun with Volkswagen’s latest global design language.
4. New Colour Options
Volkswagen have also refreshed the Taigun’s visual appeal with new colour options. The 2026 Taigun is now available in a total of 9 colour options:
- White
- Black
- Red
- Blue
- Silver
- Dark Grey
- Matte Grey
- Light Grey (New)
- Green (New)
5. Improved Safety And Practicality
The Taigun facelift also gets a few important updates aimed at improving safety and everyday usability:
- Rear disc brakes on all 1.5L turbo petrol variants
- Rear wiper now standard across all variants
While these may seem like small additions, they enhance both braking performance and practicality, especially in Indian driving conditions.
Prices Yet To Be Announced
Volkswagen are yet to announce the prices of the 2026 Taigun facelift. We expect a slight premium over the current model, given the added features and updates.
Once launched, the Taigun facelift will continue to rival popular C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Renault Duster and others.
