The new generation Hyundai Verna premium sedan has been a great success in the Indian C-segment and also ruled the segment for quite some time. However, its newer market rivals proved to be stronger and it lost its top position in the segment first to the Honda City and then to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

However, its newer market rivals proved to be stronger and it lost its top position in the segment first to the Honda City and then to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Although the Ciaz and the City are the most prominent models in the Indian C-segment, the Hyundai Verna continue to be popular, although it has lost its previous appeal for the Indian sedan buyers despite the updates it has received. The new generation Verna is expected to boost the sales of the model in India and make it highly popular once more.
The new Hyundai Verna will be endowed with a whole lot of changes to its exterior as well as interior. It will be laden with a number of new features as well. In the Chinese car market, the new Verna sedan has been tagged with a starting price that is equivalent to Rs. 7.20 lakhs for the base model that goes all the up to Rs. 10.45 lakhs for the top of the range model.
The all new Hyundai Verna sedan has borrowed some design cues from the new generation Hyundai Elantra premium sedan, which adds to the new premium looks of the Verna. The new Verna flaunts an all-new front fascia with a newly styled cascading front radiator grille, new projector headlights along with LED daytime running lights, newly styled beefier front bumper, wider central air dam as well as new LED fog lamps.
The all new Hyundai Verna has also grown a bigger in size and is now 5 mm longer and 28 mm wider than the preceding model. The new model also boasts of a sloping roofline and black C-Pillar. The rear design of the new Verna is also sportier than before and flaunts newly designed tail lights along with LED elements and a new spoiler. Other new exterior features of the new sedan model include newly designed alloy wheels, tinted windows and chrome finished door handles.
On the inside, the new Verna will offer a newly designed dashboard, new upholstery with improved seats, a new 7 inch touchscreen integrated infotainment system, pushbutton engine start/stop and more.
The Chinese-spec new Hyundai Verna model has two engine options, namely a 1.4 liter 4 cylinder motor offering 100 bhp, and a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder mill which generates 123 bhp. There is a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic transmission option.
The India-bound model of the new Verna however, is expected to retain the same engine range, which include the 1.4 liter petrol, 1.6 liter petrol, a 1.4 liter U2 CRDi diesel and a 1.6 liter CRDi diesel motor.
