April 2022 Cars Sales Analysis - SUV Segment YoY, MoM Change | V3Cars
In this April 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all SUVs in India. We’ll also share our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable.

SUV Segment April 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among the SUVs, the Tata Nexon and Hyundai Creta are the top 2 performers followed by Vitara Brezza, Punch and then another Hyundai car, the Venue occupying the 5th spot
- Only 4 SUVs managed to enter the 5-figure club, which includes 2 cars from Tata (Nexon and Punch) and one each from Maruti Suzuki (Brezza) and Hyundai (Creta)
- In terms of YoY change, excluding the low-volume SUV figures, the Nexon posted a split 90%+ improvement and was the top gainer
- The Toyota Urban Cruiser and Tata Harrier were also solid performers and recorded a YoY growth of 66.2% and 62.7%, respectively
- Among notable top losers are Hector twins, Magnite and Kia Sonet, each posting a 30%+ decline in YoY numbers
- Venue is the only car, which had a 5-figure performance in April 2021 and now posting a 4-figure monthly production
- The Nexon’s performance is the exact opposite as it was a 4-figure car in April 2021 but is now the top-selling SUV
