In this April 2023 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment hatchbacks in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment Hatchback April 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

All the cars in the category reported a YoY growth in the month of April
The Maruti Baleno was the only B2-segment hatchback with 5-figure sales numbers in April YoY comparison and was the top-selling and top-gaining car in the category with 47.92% YoY growth in April comparison
Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza saw a YoY gain of near 38%
Altroz saw a YoY growth of 9.19% in the category
Jazz saw a massive 100% decline in dispatches in February YoY comparison and reported zero sales in the month of April as well. The Jazz has now been discontinued by Honda.
Volkswagen Polo was discontinued in the second quarter of 2022.

B2-Segment Hatchback April 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

Tata Altroz was the to gainer in MoM comparison in April, with a growth of over 20%
Altroz was followed by Glanza with a 8.56% growth in MoM April comparison analysis
In terms of MoM sales figures, the i20 was the sole loser, with a 1.88% decline in sales figures
Sales of Maruti Suzuki Baleno in April remained consistent with that of March 2023
