Audi Q3, Q3 Sportback Local Production Begins | V3Cars

Audi India have commenced local production of their entry level SUV range, which includes the Q3 and Q3 Sportback. The carmaker is producing both the SUVs at its manufacturing plant in Aurangabad. Read on to know more details about the Q3 model range.

Audi Q3, Q3 Sportback Local Production Commences

Earlier, Audi brought both the Q3 and Q3 Sportback models to India as completely built units (CBU), which is often also referred to as direct imports. However, to reduce tax impositions and boost local operations, the carmaker has now started bringing the kits to India and producing the Q3 SUV and Sportback locally at the SAVWIPL plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

While Audi haven’t shared any price revisions for both these models, we expect the prices to go 

down a notch owing to the lower tax impositions on locally-produced vehicles over direct imports. It is worth mentioning that Audi India recently hiked the prices of their entire model range by up to 2.4%. Read more about the Audi India price hike by clicking the link below.

Q3 Sportback

Audi Q3 SUV And Sportback Design And Features

The Q3 Sportback is based on its SUV counterpart and it’s the only vehicle in its segment to offer a tapering coupe-esque roofline. The Q3 Sportback also comes with the S Line package as standard, which includes a different chrome grille, S Line badges, sportier front and rear bumpers and 18-inch alloy wheels. In terms of features, both the Q3 SUV and Sportback offer a panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display and 2-zone climate control.

Audi Q3 SUV And Sportback Powertrain Details

Both the Audi Q3 SUV and Sportback come with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine. It produces 190PS of power between 4200rpm and 6000rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4100rpm. The turbo petrol engine comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in 7.3 seconds and also offers the option to change engine response with drive select.
