Although Audi has already debuted the facelifted Q2 globally, the carmaker will bring only the pre-facelift SUV in the country. Upfront, the Q2 gets the signature family look with a large front grille flanked by chunky headlamps. The side profile, on the other hand, looks clean with minimal character lines. The rear profile of the Q2 reminds us of the now-discontinued Mercedes A-Class with those rounded-off tail lamps, small tailgate and a squat stance. All in all, the Q2 looks more like a crossover rather than a proper SUV.
Talking about the dimensions, the pre-facelift Q2 is 4191mm x 2009mm x 1508mm (LxWxH) and has a wheelbase 2595mm. With these dimensions, the Q2 is even smaller than the new Creta which measures 4300mm x 1790mm x 1635mm and has a wheelbase of 2610mm.

On the inside, the Q2’s cabin looks similar to previous-gen Audi cars with a pop-up central infotainment screen and circular AC vents. In terms of features, the Q2 is expected to get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, LED headlamps and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the hood, the Q2 is expected to get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 190PS and 320Nm. Power will be sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox working in combination with the Quattro 4WD system.
Audi has not yet announced a launch date for the Q2 but we expect it to happen in the coming few months. Although, the Q2 won’t have a direct rival in the Indian market but price-wise it will compete with the likes of the Volvo XC40, BMW X1 and upcoming GLA. Prices for the Q2 are expected to start around Rs 35 lakh.
