Audi has launched the Q7 Black Edition in India at a price tag of Rs 82.15 lakh for the 45 TFSI petrol model and at Rs 86.30 lakh for the 45 TDI diesel version (all prices, ex-showroom). The Q7 Black Edition comes at a premium of around Rs 1.05 lakh over the Technology version of the luxury SUV. Black Edition is a limited edition model and only 100 units will be sold in India.
The Q7 Black Edition comes with a handful of cosmetic updates including gloss black finish on the front grille, side air intake struts as well as door trim strips. The glossy black finish is also added to the SUV’s roof, roof rails, side window frames and alloy wheels, while at the rear of the vehicle a matte black finish has been added to add to the overall sporty visual appeal.
Since the Black Edition is based on the Q7 Technology, it carries over all the noteworthy features from the Technology variant. The features list includes a 12.3 inch Virtual Cockpit, Bose 3D sound system, MMI navigation, adaptive air suspension and panoramic sunroof.
The Q7 Black Edition is available for sale in petrol and diesel engine options. The 45 TFSI powertrain has a 2.0-litre petrol engine capable of generating a maximum power output of 251PS and 370Nm of peak torque. The 45 TDI, on the other hand, packs in a 3.0-litre diesel engine delivering 248PS and 600Nm output. Both the engines have been paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard.
In the Indian market, the Audi Q7 locks its horns with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Volvo XC90.
