Audi has launched a new, more affordable, variant of its flagship SUV, the Q8. Christened the Q8 Celebration, it is priced at Rs 98.98 lakh (ex-showroom India). That makes it Rs 34.61 lakh more affordable than the standard Q8, which is priced at Rs 1.33 crore (ex-showroom India).
Compared to the standard model, the Q8 Celebration misses out on features like adaptive suspension, Bang and Olufsen sound system and gesture operated tailgate operation. It also misses out on 20- and 21-inch alloys and gets smaller 19-inch alloy wheels.
Standard features on offer include LED matrix headlamps, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-inch screen for AC controls, powered front seats, dual-zone AC, 10-speaker sound system, wireless mobile charging and 8 airbags.
Under the hood, things remain unchanged as it draws power from a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system. The engine makes 340PS of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Power is sent to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro 4WD system. The Q8 can go from 0-100kmph in 5.9 seconds.
With the introduction of the more affordable variant, the Q8 is now more closely priced to its arch-rival, the X6, which is priced from Rs 95 lakh (ex-showroom India). Other Q8 rivals include Porsche Cayenne Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe, which are priced at Rs 1.31 crore and Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom India), respectively.
