Sedans August 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- The Dzire maintained its top spot among sedan sales in August 2023 and reported a drop of 12.01% in YoY comparison
- It looks like even in the foreseeable future, the Dzire will remain the only sedan to achieve a 5-figure monthly sales figure as its sales in August are more than triple that of the next best-selling car in the category, the Xcent/Aura pair
- Among the mass-market sedans, the Virtus witnessed a 145% YoY gain, making it the top gainer
- The other YoY gainer in the sedan category was Hyundai Verna with a 48.56% growth
- The Honda City was the top loser amongst the high-volume cars in the category with a 57% YoY decline in sales numbers
- Among other mass market losers in the category, the Ciaz was the next top loser with around 44% decline in sales, followed by Tigor with around 15% YoY drop in numbers in August 2023
- Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Vento, Mahindra E-Verito, and Skoda Octavia were discontinued over the past year

Sedan August 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Most cars in the category saw a rise in the MoM comparison for August
- The only losers were:
- Maruti Ciaz (37.02% drop)
- Hyundai Verna (9.87% drop)
- Toyota Camry (4.74% drop)
- Maruti Dzire (0.76%)
- Among the high-volume cars listed here, Virtus was the top gainer with 23.20% growth, whereas Slavia posted a growth of 0.18%
- Talking about the MoM gainers in August, Tigor was second on the chart with a 9.80% rise, followed by the Xcent/Aura pair with a 8.37% gains
