The highly anticipated Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Estate has made its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Like the name tells, the E-Class All-Terrain Estate is the crossover version of the E-Class estate wagon, and it will be going on sale in the car market of India later in 2018. Post its Indian launch, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Estate will be rivaling with the likes of the Volvo V90 Cross Country.
With the launch of the E-Class All-Terrain Estate, Mercedes-Benz will be offering an estate wagon in the Indian market for the very first time. The E-Class All-Terrain Estate has been already selling in the international car markets for more than a year now, and it is finally coming to India this year. The car offers the comfort of an Estate and the tough capabilities of an SUV, thus, offering the best of the two worlds. The SUV abilities from the car’s good ground clearance, large alloy wheels and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system that come as a part of its standard package.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain E 220 d will be getting equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine which is capable of churning out 191 bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of top torque. The oil burner will get mated to a 9 speed automatic transmission gearbox. The powerful engine makes the large wagon-crossover sprint from a standstill position to the speed level of 100 km per hour in just over 8 seconds and offers a top speed of 232 km per hour.
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain is essentially the regular E-Class Estate which has been made tougher with some additional equipments mentioned above. In terms of styling, the wagon-crossover looks quite reminiscent of the new generation E-Class sedan as it has the same basic design language. The car’s front fascia flaunts a massive honeycomb radiator grille with twin chrome slats flashing the company three pointed star emblem in the middle. There are the patent LED MultiBeam headlights from Mercedes-Benz that are enhanced greatly by eyebrow shaped LED DRLs. The car also flaunts a new stylish front bumper housing a large central air dam, three air intakes and a skid plate.
For added rough road treading abilities the E-Class All-Terrain Estate also gets endowed with underbody cladding which runs along the bumpers, wheel arches and the side body. At the rear there is a newly styled bolder bumper, rear diffuser as well as a skid plate. The E-Class All-Terrain also offers the buyers three different sets of alloy wheels to choose from in two sizes – 19 inch and 20 inch.
On the inside, the new Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain Estate is packed with the almost same goodies that the E-Class sedan offers model. The dashboard design is identical in both models and so is the smart and luxurious interior styling. The E-Class All-Terrain offers leather upholstery and the Mercedes COMAND infotainment system integrated to a large 12.3 inch display.
