New Baleno To Get Head-Up Display - Bookings Open | V3Cars

Maruti Nexa have released a teaser for the new 2022 Baleno with the tagline ‘Tech Goes Bold’. The new Baleno will get a segment-first feature in the form of a head-up display. Along with this, Maruti have also opened bookings for the new Baleno. The token amount for booking the 2022 Baleno is Rs. 11,000. You can book the new Baleno via the Maruti Nexa website or visit a Nexa dealership. We expect Maruti to reveal the prices of the new Baleno by February 20.

New Baleno

The head-up display allows a driver to see important information without taking their eyes off the road. The Baleno’s new HUD will display information like speed, gear position, tachometer, AC control, and time. We can also expect navigation to feature on this HUD. Currently, the Kia Seltos is the most affordable car to come with this feature.

Maruti have also confirmed that the Baleno will carry forward the 1.2L normal petrol engine. The current Baleno has the option of a mild-hybrid setup, which increases the power and fuel efficiency. We expect Maruti to make this setup standard. This engine produces 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. It will also feature idle start-stop technology to save fuel.

Maruti claim that the new Baleno is technologically advanced and feature-rich. However, we do not expect them to introduce a sunroof in this facelift, which the Hyundai i20 gets in this segment. Maruti have also emphasised on the safety of the new Baleno. This solidifies the rumour that claims Maruti will use strengthened steel for better safety in the new Baleno. We are also expecting 6 airbags and ESP in the top-spec model of the Baleno.

Maruti named the new design language of Baleno ‘Crafted Futurism’. The new Baleno will get new LED headlamps, a bigger grille, new taillights, a new rear bumper and a new tailgate. Maruti will also heavily update the interiors of the new Baleno. We expect them to add some additional features in the new Baleno, such as connected car technology, rear armrest, rear AC vents, and cruise control.

The high-spec trims of the new Baleno are expected to cost more than the corresponding variants of the outgoing Baleno. Currently, the Baleno is priced between Rs. 6.14 lakh and Rs. 9.66 lakh. Maruti could change the automatic transmission from CVT to AMT to keep the costs low. Even after this, we expect the prices of the new Baleno to go up by almost Rs. 50,000. It will continue to rival the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and Toyota Glanza.
