    BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Tomorrow - Expected Prices, Specs & Features

    BMW is all set to launch the 2 Series Gran Coupe in India on 15 October 2020. Bookings for the sedan are already underway for a token amount of Rs 50,000. Currently, the 2 Series has no direct rivals but Mercedes Benz and Audi are expected to launch their competitors in the form of A-Class sedan and A3, respectively.

    BMW is expected to launch the 2 Series in a diesel 220d trim only. However, it will be offered in two variants: Sport Line and M Sport, with prices ranging from Rs 35 lakh to 37 lakh.

    What Are The Dimensions Of BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe?

    The 2 Series Gran Coupe is 4526mm long, 1800mm wide and 1420mm tall. It is not the longest but is the widest sedan in its class. A wide-body results in more shoulder room for the occupants. The 2 Series has a wheelbase of 2670mm which is not the biggest. The wheelbase is the distance between the centre of the front and rear wheels. A longer wheelbase usually results in better legroom.

    At launch, the 2 Series Gran Coupe is expected to be offered with a diesel engine only. It will get a 2.0-litre engine making 190PS and 400Nm mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW might also offer a petrol engine at a later stage. It is expected to be a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine making 192PS and 280Nm mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.  BMW already offers both of these engines on the entry-level X1 SUV. 

    What Will Be The Top Features Of BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe?

    The 2 Series is expected to get features like the digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, alloy wheels, powered front seats, wireless mobile charging and heads up display.   

    How many airbags will the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe offer?

    The 2 Series will be equipped with 6 airbags. Other standard safety features on offer include ABS with EBD, traction control, hill launch assist, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitor and front and rear parking sensors 

    Will the 2 Series Gran Coupe have a Touchscreen?

    Yes, the BMW will get a touchscreen system. Where the Sport Line variant is expected to get an 8.8-inch unit, the M Sport variant will get a 10.25-inch screen. Only the larger screen will feature Apple CarPlay support.
