BYD India have announced that the Sealion 7 electric SUV will become more expensive from January 1, 2026. Customers who place their bookings on or before December 21, 2025, will still be eligible for the existing ex-showroom prices, effectively giving buyers a limited window to secure the SUV at the current price.

The Sealion 7 is one of BYD’s most successful launched in India, having crossed 2,000 unit sales since its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. BYD say the SUV continues to see strong demand from EV buyers seeking a mix of performance, luxury and long-range capability.
Here are the current prices of the BYD Sealion 7:
These prices will remain unchanged only for bookings made till December 31, 2025.
While BYD have not disclosed exact percentages or future pricing, the company has outlined the broader factors contributing to the upcoming price adjustment:
EVs rely heavily on advanced battery technologies and semiconductor components. With fluctuations in raw material costs and increasing global demand for high-density battery cells, long-term price correction becomes necessary for manufacturers.
The Sealion 7 features BYD’s advanced CTB (Cell-to-Body) architecture and iTAC torque management system, both of which require specialised components and manufacturing processes. As the brand scales up production and adopts more premium tech across variants, pricing revisions help accommodate these added capabilities.
BYD India’s rapid retail expansion demands increased investment in infrastructure, service capability and customer touchpoints. A price realignment helps sustain this ongoing growth. The brand currently has 47 showrooms across 40 cities.
With over 2,000 units already sold, the Sealion 7 has established a solid demand curve. Automakers often revise pricing once a model gains traction, especially in the premium EV space.
Customers planning to purchase the Sealion 7 before the end of 2025 can avoid the price increase entirely. A confirmed booking before the deadline ensures the existing ex-showroom price is honoured.
With a clear timeline announced, BYD dealerships are expected to see a rise in enquiries and bookings through November–December as buyers rush to secure the SUV at its present rates.
Even with the upcoming price hike, customers stand to benefit from BYD’s expanding retail and service footprint. More dealerships mean quicker deliveries, shorter service wait times and broader access to test drives.
A price increase in January may positively impact resale and perceived value for early adopters, as newer buyers will pay a higher amount for the same product.
