December 2025 is set to wrap up the year with a trio of launches and major unveiling. The biggest highlight is Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, followed by Tata’s addition of new petrol powertrains to the Harrier and Safari. This month will also witness the global debut of the next-generation Kia Seltos.

Upcoming Cars In December 2025

Here’s a complete look at all the upcoming cars in December 2025:

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara (Dec 2 Launch)

Maruti Suzuki will finally enter the electric SUV space with the upcoming e Vitara on December 2. This will be Maruti’s first all-electric model for India and will introduce the brand’s updated EV-specific design language – featuring LED projector headlamps, Y-shaped DRLs, a clean aerodynamic grille area, wraparound tail lamps, and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Maruti e-Vitara

Inside, the e Vitara is expected to feature a dual-screen layout with a 10.25-inch infotainment system paired with a 10.1-inch full digital driver’s display. Notable feature highlights are likely to include a fixed glass roof, ventilated front seats, an Infinity sound system, and a 10-way powered driver’s seat.

Safety kit may include 6 airbags and Level-2 ADAS, making it Maruti’s most technologically advanced SUV yet.

2 battery pack options are expected:

  • 49kWh (Standard Range)
  • 61kWh (Long Range)

The larger pack is likely to deliver a claimed range of over 500km, positioning the e Vitara as a strong contender in the mass-market EV space.

2. Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol (Dec 9 Launch)

Tata Harrier

Tata Motors will expand the Harrier and Safari line-up with new turbo-petrol variants, set to launch on December 9. Both SUVs have so far been diesel-only, relying on the familiar 2.0L engine. The introduction of petrol engines will significantly widen their appeal, especially for buyers with lower running or those who prefer a smoother, quieter driving experience.

Tata Safari

Both SUVs are expected to receive Tata’s latest 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which debuted on the 2026 Sierra. This engine produces 160PS and 255Nm. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. The petrol variants are also expected to be priced below their diesel counterparts, making them the new entry-point options for both SUVs.

Kia will unveil the next-generation Seltos globally on December 10. The SUV has already been spotted testing in Korea and India, revealing a shift towards a more upright, boxier SUV stance,  similar to Kia’s newer global models.

The 2026 Seltos is expected to offer:

  • A redesigned exterior with connected lighting signatures
  • A more squared-off body profile
  • An updated cabin with the brand’s latest screen and control layout

While detailed technical specifications are yet to be revealed, the SUV is likely to receive updated powertrains and new safety technology. The India unveiling is expected sometime in 2026, after the global showcase.
