In this February 2023 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change for the 20 top-selling cars of February 2023. Based on the data, we’ll also share our observations and possible reasons for big improvement or massive decline in sales where applicable.

February 2023 - 20 Top-Selling Cars YoY Change

Mahindra Scorpio reported the best growth, with a gain of 166% in terms of YoY comparison.
The next best YoY performer in February 2023 was the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, with around 70% gains.
Tata Tiago sales witnessed a 66% growth. However, about twice as many units of the Brezza were dispatched in February than the Tiago.
The Baleno was the best-selling car in India, with over 18,000 units sold in the month of February 2023.
The top 10 best selling cars in February 2023 sold well over 10,000 units.
Maruti’s Ertiga was the top loser in the YoY comparison analysis for the month of February, with a near 45% decline in dispatches compared to February 2022.
9 out of 20 models on the top 20 bestselling list in February 2023 are from Maruti Suzuki, and in February of 2023, the top 6 spots were taken by Maruti cars.
Hyundai had 4 and Tata had 3 cars in the February 2023 YoY Top 20 performers list. Kia and Mahindra had just 2 models each in the top 20 list.

February 2023 - 20 Top-Selling Cars MoM Change

The Dzire was the top-performer in terms of MoM comparison analysis for the month of February, with over 48% increase in dispatches as compared to January 2023.
The Bolero was the second best performer in the MoM comparison for the month of February, with a 14% growth in sales.
Most cars in the top-selling cars’ list saw a MoM decline in dispatch numbers.
The Ertiga from Maruti Suzuki topped the list of MoM losers, with almost 34% decline in numbers, followed by the Hyundai Creta, which saw a decline of 31% in MoM comparison for February.
