No ‘X’ Treatment For eC3; New Gen eC3 Spotted Testing For Expected Launch In 2026 | V3Cars

Since the car was moving around without making any noise at all, we can say with confidence that this is the electric version of the new-gen C3.

2026 Citroen eC3 Range & Specs

Along with a new design, the new eC3 has 2 battery options — a 30kWh and a 44kWh pack — both air cooled. The motor pushes out 113PS of power and 125Nm of peak torque regardless of which battery pack. For an electric car, that may not sound like a lot of torque, but then, an electric car delivers most of its torque at practically crawling speeds. So, they still offer rolling acceleration like a small turbo petrol car.

With the smaller battery pack, the UK-spec eC3 promises about 210km of range under mixed driving conditions. The larger battery pack bumps this figure up to about 320km.

2026 Citroen eC3 Dimensions

The eC3 measures 4015mm long, 1755mm wide & 1567mm tall with a wheelbase of 2540mm. The length is only a smidgen over 4 metres, which suggests that this car is also very likely to come to India with a petrol engine and possibly even a hybrid powertrain. Trimming it down to under 4 metres will allow Citroen to benefit from the small car taxations.

The eC3 has a ground clearance of ~163mm in the European spec variants. However, for the Indian version, we can expect a slight bump in this area to 180mm so that Citroen can call it an SUV. The car certainly has the proportions to earn the SUV badge. It rides on 17-inch alloys, which are visible in the spotted test car, but when it goes on sale in India, we may see smaller 16-inch wheels; at least for the lower trims.

2026 Citroen eC3 Launch Timeline Estimate

We expect the new eC3 to go on sale sometime in the first quarter of 2026 and latest by H1 2026.

Citroen eC3 2026 Price Expectations

Considering the tough competition in the EV space in India right now; thanks to Mahindra & MG, we believe Citroen will have to price it aggressively. In the recent past, we have seen Citroen demonstrate this ability to be aggressive with their C3X starting at an insanely low price of just Rs. 4.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago starts at Rs. 4.57 lakh.

With that in mind, we believe Citroen may have the 2026 eC3 priced well enough to compete with the Tiago EV, which starts at Rs. 8.0 lakh. With that estimation, we may see the eC3 2026 have a starting price of Rs. 10.0 lakh considering its larger battery pack than the Tiago. The Tiago EV with its larger, 24kWh pack costs Rs. 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). So, even at a Rs. 10.0 lakh starting price, the C3 electric will have a considerable battery advantage in addition to the benefits in size, space, road presence and of course comfort.
