A couple of months ago, we reported that the Kia Carens is soon joining the list of cars available to military and para military forces via CSD. According to the source, it was likely to come to CSD sometime in May 2023. Now, we have learned from our source about the exact list of variants that will become available to our men and women in uniform through the canteen.

Update: We recently learned that the Prestige variant of the Kia Carens with the 1.5L turbo and ACMT is not available through CSD.
Not all of the variants and engine-powertrain options of the Kia Carens will come to the CSD. According to the latest bit of info, we’ve learned that the following variants will become available to the soldiers:

Kia recently discontinued their 1.35L turbo petrol engine and replaced it with the 1.5L turbo petrol unit. They also made the auto-clutch manual transmission their standard choice of transmission for turbo charged engines. So, the turbo diesel and turbo petrol engines offer ACMT/IMT and automatic transmission options.

The Seltos is yet to get this new engine but it’s likely to add it to the powertrain options with the mid-life facelift sometime ahead of the festive season.
