Facelifted Porsche Macan To Be Launched In February 2019 In India
German performance car automaker Porsche had globally unveiled the facelifted Macan at the 2018 Paris Motor Show and the manufacturer will be launching the SUV in the Indian market in February 2019. The upcoming Macan will be offering a host of updated features as well as an upgraded engine and new technology.
Under the hood, the 2019 Porsche Macan will come powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 252 hp and a peak torque figure of 370 Nm. The engine will come mated to seven- speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox and four-wheel drive system. With the help of the engine, the SUV can do the sprint of 0- 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 225 kmph. The manufacturer is also likely to launch the Macan S at a later stage. The variant is likely to get a new 3- litre turbocharged V6 with the same 340 hp of maximum power as seen in existing 3.6- litre turbocharged V6 Macan S. Also, in order to increase comfort levels as well as the driving dynamics of the Macan, Porsche has overhauled the chassis of the upcoming Macan. However, like its elder sibling, the Porsche Cayenne, the upcoming Macan will not be offered with a diesel engine option.
In terms of looks and features, the next- gen Porsche Macan will be offered with an updated bumper and new LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) as an optional extra, featuring the signature Porsche four- point daytime running lights at the front while the rear of the luxurious SUV will get the Panamera- esque three-dimensional LED light panel. The SUV will be seen riding on the standard 18 inches as well as up to 21 inches wheels available as option. Other than these, Porsche will also offer a number of exterior color options for the 2019 Macan such as Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Miami Blue and Crayon.
At the inside, the new Macan will get a new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 10.9-inch, full-HD touchscreen infotainment system as the additional features as well as optional GT sports steering wheel that comes with a 'Sport Response button' that is borrowed from the 911 range in terms of updates.
The existing Macan in India comes priced from Rs 80.38 lakh to Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom, India) and available in two variants – the 252 hp, Macan petrol and the range- topping 440 hp, Macan Turbo. Porsche had launched the most affordable variant of the Macan SUV – R4, at Rs 76.84 lakh (ex-showroom) in India in November 2016. The Macan ‘R4’ is the fourth version of the Macan that is sold in India after the S Diesel, Turbo and Turbo with Performance Package. The variant comes powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 251 bhp of power and 370 Nm of peak torque that comes paired to Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. In the Indian market, the Porsche Macan takes against the likes of the Jaguar F-Pace and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe in the segment.
