In this February 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment sedans in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment sedans for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
C-Segment Sedans February 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- None of the cars in the segment reported any growth in sales
- Honda City was the top selling car in the category, with almost 2,000 units sold in February
- Hyundai Verna was the top losing car in the segment, with a 95% decline in YoY comparison. Verna sales dipped after Hyundai announced they would launch the new generation Verna on March 21
- Th Verna was followed by Ciaz, with a 59% YoY decline, and the Slavia, with a 31% YoY decline
- The Volkswagen Vento was discontinued over the past year
- The Virtus is still recent enough to not warrant a YoY comparison

C-Segment Sedan February 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- In terms of MoM sales comparison as well, the Verna was the top loser, with a 95% MoM decline in the month of February 2023
- The Verna was followed by the Ciaz, with a 21% MoM decline in February MoM sales comparison analysis
- All cars in the segment saw a MoM decline except thr Volkswagen Virtus, which reported a 13% MoM growth over January sales numbers
- Mahindra e-Verito had zero dispatches for the third consecutive month since December 2022
