Skoda India recently dropped the price of their flagship SUV — the Kodiaq. The top-spec L&K variant got a price cut of Rs. 2.0 lakh. Meanwhile, the lower 2 variants, Style and Sportline trims are discontinued.

The Kodiaq competes with D-segment SUVs like the Volkswagen Tiguan, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MUX. With a single variant, the selection process is now streamlined for the customers. Although, in recent years, we have noticed a strong correlation between complex variant-powertrain options and the vehicle’s commercial success. The Nexon, Fortuner, Punch, Harrier and Safari are some examples that spring to mind.
